[:en] In her final graduation project, Violet Yosry, the Economics student at the Faculty of Business and Economics has chosen one of the global critical issues that is addressed by the fifth goal of sustainable development. She discussed the effect of women’s empowerment on the economic growth, the equality of both and women in the work field and how it can increase the economy of Egypt. She also investigated how population growth can affect the economy. She concluded from her research that society will not be promoted unless there is support from each one to other. Her research revealed that female participation in the labor market is around 25%, while men represent 79% of the labor force. According to the study, an increase of 5% in female participation in the labor force leads to an increase in GDP by 1.3%. “We cannot achieve the sustainable development goals without cooperation between men and women in the society,” says Violet. Dr. Doaa Salman supervised this graduation project. [:ar] في مشروع تخرجها النهائي، اختارت فيوليت يسري، طالبة الاقتصاد في كلية إدارة الأعمال والاقتصاد بجامعة هليوبوليس إحدى القضايا العالمية الحاسمة التي يعالجها الهدف الخامس للتنمية المستدامة. حيث ناقشت تأثير تمكين المرأة على النمو الاقتصادي، والمساواة بين الجنسين في مجال العمل، وكيف يمكن أن يزيد ذلك من النمو الاقتصادي في مصر. كما بحثت كيف يمكن للنمو السكاني أن يؤثر على الاقتصاد . وتوصلت فيوليت من خلال بحثها إلى أن المجتمع لن يتقدم إلى الأمام ما لم يكن هناك دعم من كلا الجنسين للآخر. حيث كشف البحث أن المرأة تشارك بنسبة ٢٥% في سوق العمل بينما مشاركة الرجل تمثل حوالي ٧٩%. كما تشير الدراسة إلى أن زيادة مشاركة المرأة في سوق العمل بنسبة ٥% تؤدي إلى زيادة في الناتج المحلي الإجمالي بنسبة ١٫٣%. تقول فيوليت “لا يمكننا تحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة دون التعاون بين الرجال والنساء في المجتمع.” قام بالاشراف على هذا البحث د. دعاء سلمان.
